Obituary of Vincent J. McCormick

Vincent J. McCormick, 60, of Perkiomenville, died Thursday, July 10, 2014, at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, Pa. Born in the Roxborough section of Philadelphia on Feb. 5, 1954, Vincent attended St. John the Baptist of Manayunk and graduated from Roxborough High School. Vince lived in Perkiomenville, Pa., for the last 25 years, formerly of Collegeville, Pa. He recently retired from Johnson & Johnson Centocor of Malvern, Pa., and previously worked with Rhone Poulenc Rhorer of Fort Washington, Pa., for 28 years. Vince was a family man and loved all that fatherhood and grandfatherhood entailed. For 34 years he stood by his loving wife, Sandra, and they enjoyed many trips to the beach and time spent with family and friends, but their greatest joys came from their daughter, Jacqueline, and grandson, Michael. Vince loved singing and playing the guitar (especially the Beach Boys). He also loved watching sports, woodworking, fishing and reading and was an avid card player. Vince was an animal lover and was always with his dog Max. He is survived by his wife, Sandra McCormick of Perkiomenville; daughter Jacqueline (McCormick) & Michael Poysden of Collegeville; and his grandson, Michael Poysden, Collegeville.Vince will be sadly missed by in-laws Robert and Linda Capetola, James and Renee Capetola, Leanne Capetola and Linda Capetola, husband of Frank (deceased); 10 nieces and nephews; and lifelong friends Helen and Lou Springer and their families. He was preceded in death by his parents, Vincent and Victoria (Swider) McCormick. Friends may call on Wednesday morning, July 16, 2014, from 1:000-10:50 AM at Blessed Teresa of Calcutta RC Church, 256 Swamp Pike, Schwenksville. Funeral Mass immediately following at 11:00 AM. Rev. Martin F. Kern will be officiating. Interment will be in Limerick Garden of Memories, Limerick, Pa.
