She was the owner and operator of Hynes Consignment Shop of Ambler, Pa Eileen was an avid sports fan and enjoyed bowling and playing tennis and cards

Obituary of Eileen S. Hynes

Eileen S. (Shields) Hynes, 78, of Blue Bell, died Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at her home. She was predeceased by her husband, the late Edward J. Hynes, III. She was a loving mother of 6, grandmother of 14, great grandmother of 1 and Owner & Operator of Hynes Consignment Shop of Ambler, Pa. Born in Philadelphia, PA on August 3, 1936, Eileen had been living in Blue Bell, Pa since 1966, formerly of the Mount Airy section of Philadelphia where she was born and raised. Forty eight years in Blue Bell allowed her involvement in many community causes and was always willing to devote her time to help others. She was a member of Epiphany of Our Lord RC Church in Plymouth Meeting, Pa. Eileen attended Melrose Academy and Gwynedd Mercy College. She was the owner and operator of Hynes Consignment Shop of Ambler, Pa. Eileen was an avid Philadelphia sports fan and enjoyed playing tennis and cards with friends. She enjoyed spending time "down the shore" and loved long days and walks on the beach. Survivors include son Edward J. Hynes of Bethlehem, PA; daughter, Kelly Anne (& Robert) Fling of Gainsville, Va.; son James S. Hynes of Horsham, PA; daughter Stacy E. (& late Thomas) Alexander of Conshohocken, PA; daughter Eileen M. (& Daniel) Burkart of Blue Bell, PA; son Thomas J. (& Terri) Hynes of Chalfont, PA. Also survived by 14 grandchildren, 1 great granddaughter,and many nieces and nephews. Along with her husband and parents, James Shields and Mary (Kelly), she was preceded in death by 2 sisters Joyce Kelleher & Anita Bernert . Her Memorial Mass will be held on Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at 10:30 AM at the Epiphany of Our Lord RC Church, 3050 Walton Road & Township Line Road, Plymouth Meeting. Msgr. James E. Mortimer will be officiating and Deacon Tim Lynch assisting. Friends may call on Tuesday Morning from 9:30 to 10:15 AM at the Church. Interment will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Cheltenham, PA.
