Following that he served an apprenticeship as a machinist and worked for Coburns and Rolls Royce He also worked machining parts for the Queen Mary He married Mary Dalton (Morrison) on February 28, 1958. In 1967 he immigrated with his wife and children to Collegeville, Pa He has lived in Schwenksville, Pa for the last year formerly of Perkiomen Twp., Pa

Obituary of William H. Highlands

William Holmes Highlands, 82, of Schwenksville passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at Einstein Montgomery Medical Center of East Norriton. Born in Glasgow, Scotland on December 28, 1931, he was the youngest of five children. He served in the British Army from 1953 to 1955 training security dogs. Following that he served an apprenticeship as a machinist and worked for Coburns and Rolls Royce. He also worked machining parts for the Queen Mary. He married Mary Dalton (Morrison) on February 28, 1958. In 1967 he immigrated with his wife and children to Collegeville, Pa. He has lived in Schwenksville, Pa for the last year, formerly of Perkiomen Twp., Pa. Survivors include his Wife: Mary D. Highlands of Schwenksville, Pa, Daughters: Doreen Elizabeth (& Allen) Swanson of Cape May, NJ, Jean Morrison (& Keith) Tarbet of Schwenksville, PA, and Alison Carol (& Patrick) O'Donnell of Exeter, PA, Son: William Alexander Buchanan (& Lisa) Highlands of Royersford, PA, and Sister: Elizabeth Tate Scotland. He is also survived by his 8 Grandchildren: Matthew Allen Swanson, Lauren Elizabeth Swanson, Andrew Ian Highlands Tarbet, Elizabeth Mary Hopkins Tarbet , Morgan Sarah O'Donnell, Owen Alexander Evans Highlands, Carter Buchanan Dalton Highlands, & Elise Catherine Mary Highlands. Along with his parents, William Highlands and Elizabeth (Buchanan) Highlands, he was preceded in death by 2 Sisters: May Kennedy & Christine Conway, and a brother: Alexander Highlands. His Memorial Service will be held on Friday, December 19, 2014 at 11:00 AM from the Moore, Snear & Ruggiero Funeral Home, 224 West Main Street, Trappe. Friends may call on Friday morning from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the Funeral Home. Interment will be private.
