Obituary of Raymond N. Knight

Raymond N. Knight, Sr. age 84, died June 19, 2015 in Southeastern Veterans Center, Spring City, PA where he had resided. He was originally from Willow Grove, PA. Mr. Knight was born in Upper Makefield Township, Bucks County, PA on July 27, 1930. He was a graduate of Upper Moreland High School, Class of 1949. Mr. Knight served in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict from 1951 until his honorable discharge in 1955 earning the rank of Airman First Class. He was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Mr. Knight retired from Upper Moreland Township Public Works Department as General Foreman, and had served as Director, Montgomery County Public Works Association. He enjoyed deer hunting on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, and was a Phillies fan, even when they weren't winning. Raymond was the son of the late Harry C. and Catherine (Gomerdinger) Knight. His wife of sixty-two years, Elizabeth (Hauser) Knight, preceded him in death on October 23, 2014. The couple married on December 26, 1951. He is survived by sons Raymond (Mary) Knight of West Norriton PA, Richard (Kathleen) Knight of Kenilworth PA, and Randall (Diane) Knight of North Coventry Township PA, eight grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. Also survived by brothers Lewis Knight and Frank Knight, and sisters Anna Alexander and May Sands. Relatives and friends are invited to his funeral service in the Moore, Snear, and Ruggiero Funeral Home, 224 W. Main Street, Trappe PA 19426 on Thursday, July 2 at 11:00 AM with Chaplain Mark S. Pulliam presiding. The family will greet friends from 10:00-11:00 AM at the Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Parkerford PA.
