Obituary of Bruce S. Shoupe

Bruce S. Shoupe, 67, of Jeffersonville, PA passed away Friday, April 12, 2024 surrounded by his family.

He was born in Glens Falls, New York on January 12, 1957, the son of the late Frank C. and the late Elizabeth (Haviland) Shoupe.

Bruce has lived in Jeffersonville area for over 33 years.

He was a member of Holy Saviour RC Church of Norristown, Pa

He was a Retired Director of Code Enforcement and Planning for Montgomery Township for 18 years.  A position he also held with East Norriton Township for many years.

He was the Chairman of the Planning Commission for West Norriton Township.

He was also a Member of the MSS Club.

He was the husband of Melissa ( Balzona ) Shoupe

Bruce was a very kind and gentle man.  Although he had no children of his own, he and Melissa, helped to raise his nephew and 2 nieces.  He always referred to them as our kids and their children as our grandchildren.

He is survived by his Wife Melissa Shoupe of Jeffersonville, Pa, Son Justin (& Diana) Shoupe of King of Prussia, Pa, Daughter Stacey (& Tom) Engro of Norristown, Pa, Daughter Kirsten Shoupe of Norristown, Pa, Brother Matthew (& Sandra) Shoupe of Concord, CA. His grandchildren Kylie, TJ, Eric, Melodie, Isabel, Priscilla and Emilia.  He is also survived by his Mother in law Peggy Organtini, brother and sisters in law Carl & Jacci Venezia and Mary Alice Liberatore. Many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He will always be Uncle Boo to his nieces and nephews. We must also include his cat Winkie.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers Richard Shoupe and Sean Shoupe.

Bruce will be remembered for many things, but most of all for his generosity and the endless love for his family and friends.  His wife Melissa was the love of his life and showed it every day of their marriage.  He was a hardworking man and put his whole heart and soul into everything that he did.  Bruce was a very intelligent man and loved to talk...and talk...and talk.  He knew a little bit about everything and if he didn't know, he would look it up and send you something about the subject.  He was thoughtful like that.  Many dear to Bruce would call him "McGyver".  If he couldn't fix it, he could rig it.  He wore that title proudly.  He was always ready to lend a helping hand to whoever needed it.

Many people are heart broken over the loss of such a wonderful man.  Bruce would want everyone to remember him with a smile and know how much he loved you and to continue your life with his love in your heart.

His Funeral Mass will be held Friday, April 19, 2024 at 10:30 AM from Holy Saviour Church, 407 E. Main Street, Norristown, PA.
